Position:                   Youth Development Worker

Responsible to:       Youth and Family Centre Manager

Hours:                       21 hours/week

Rate:                          £22,401 pro rata (equivalent to £13,441/annum)

This post is a part time position (21 hours/week), initially funded for 3 years, to build positive relationships with young people (11-19), encouraging their participation in a developing youth forum, providing them with support and to help to achieve their potential. The role will create an environment that supports their personal, social, cultural and educational development to allow young people to develop opportunities to gain voice and influence locally and city-wide.

If successful, you will be working for Sharrow Community Forum as part of a small, friendly team who are seeking to ‘improve the quality of life for people in Sharrow’.  The job is a wonderful opportunity for you to play your part in assisting with improvements to our service and local offer.

Essentially we are looking for a creative and proactive person, able to work on their own initiative, to deadlines and able to manage their own workload.  We are looking for someone experienced in working with young people with the ability to develop activities and services to generate aspiration and confidence in young people.
